We are living through very strange times, with all classes suspended and young people missing the academic rigours and society of their schools. If you are looking for some general educational support, mentoring, or specific academic tutoring, see the details below and please do get in touch.

Alternatively, are you interested in developing Outdoor Learning in your school or centre? Are you a land owner or site manager and want to make your space a more naturally vibrant and engaging environment?

Tutoring and Support

Without consistent schooling available, I’ve decided to offer general educational support and mentoring alongside a more traditional tutoring service. A dynamic, interactive, and encouraging environment is critical for a well balanced education, and this is something I can offer both online and during socially distanced appointments. I have over 18 years of teaching, tutoring and mentoring experience inside and out of educational institutions.

For general education support, I provide:

  • work scheduling and accountability;

  • identifying strengths/weaknesses and tailoring skills development around these;

  • visioning exercises;

  • emotional support and mentoring;

  • debate and analytical thinking.

I offer academic tutoring in:

  • Biology (GCSE, A-level and pre-med);

  • Science (GCSE);

  • Spanish (GCSE, conversation class);

  • English Literature (GCSE);

  • CDT (GCSE, A-level).

Additionally, having coached many sports teams at school and university level, I offer physical activity sessions tailored to the interest of the pupil, which will often also involve using their brain as well as their brawn.

Outdoor Learning

Learning outdoors, both in and about nature, is critical for a healthy child’s development.

I deliver specialist training for staff to help build confidence and capacity to deliver lessons outside. This may come in the form of:

  • INSET days for school staff;

  • Developing Outdoor Learning as a PPA subject (including curriculum design and mentoring).

Furthermore, I run design days for organisations focusing on site planning, co-creating natural learning environments out of underused space, such as turning a tiny corner of unused car park into an area where people can experience nature, grow plants and broaden their skill set.
